BRICK & MORTAR MERCANTILE SHOP // DICKSON, TN

Olive & Gold Mercantile is a gift shop in Dickson, TN that believes every gift has a story. Owner, Jenna, is all about bringing back the small town general store feel – where community & relationships are built – through gift giving.

I wanted to put a modern spin on an old-time, general store look. I used timeless serif fonts primarily typeset in lowercase to give an approachable, friendly feel. The warm, neutral colors are drawn from tones found in natural materials like brick & wood.

After seeing the re-occurring theme of community in their brand questionnaire, I developed a tagline for them – “every gift has a story.”
